How it Works
5 Steps from nomination to ongoing care
Our Gift of Rest program comes to life through a carefully personalized, relationship-driven process that begins the moment a family is nominated and never really ends. Our five-step process isn't one-size-fits-all; instead, it ensures we provide a deeply personal gift shaped entirely by the family's story, needs, and definition of rest.
01
STEP
🖥️ Nomination
An individual or family is nominated to us via our website.
🎁 DELIVER THE GIFT(S) OF REST
We provide the gift(s) of rest. This can mean a one-time action like delivering an item or service or something more long-term like coordinating cleaning services.
02
STEP
💬 Initial Interview
Members of the SEEN team meet with the nominated individual or family to learn their story and understand what the Gift of Rest looks like for them
03
STEP
🤲 MATCH NEEDS WITH RESOURCES
We identify which of our partners can help provide each tailored Gift of Rest. Sometimes this means adding new partners to our team!
⭐️ ONGOING SUPPORT
We remain in contact with the individual and family as long as they desire to ensure they feel seen and never walk alone.

Know a family that
deserves to rest?
Nominating a family takes 5 minutes. There is no cost to the family — everything SEEN provides is made possible by the generosity of our donors and community partners. If you know someone navigating cancer, disability, or the weight of caregiving, let us walk alongside them.

Frequently asked questions
Who can nominate a family?
Anyone can submit a nomination — a friend, neighbor, healthcare provider, pastor, coworker, or the family themselves. If you know someone navigating cancer, disability, or caregiving who deserves rest, we want to hear from you.
How long does the process take?
After receiving a nomination, the SEEN team typically reaches out within 1–2 weeks to schedule an initial interview. The timeline from nomination to first gift varies based on each family's unique needs and available resources.

Is there any cost to the family?
No. Every Gift of Rest is provided completely free of charge to the nominated family. All programs are funded through donations and the generosity of SEEN's community partners.
What does the Gift of Rest actually include?
It depends entirely on the family. It may include a retreat experience, delivered meals, cleaning services, accessible hospitality, or other personalized support. No two families receive the same gift — because no two stories are the same.
What happens after the Gift of Rest is delivered?
SEEN remains in contact for as long as the family desires. Ongoing support is central to our mission — we believe accompaniment doesn't end with a single gift. We walk alongside families for the long journey.
